The Young Parent Support Services Program of
Family Service Center of Sangamon County has been
providing services to families since 1983. Our
program targets teen parents expecting a first child
and/or teen parents that have a newborn (2 weeks old
or younger). The teen parent must live in Sangamon
County. Program services are free, confidential, and
voluntary. The Young Parent Support Services Program
offers teen parents ways to:
- Learn About Your Baby through
in-home visits focused on giving information
about the care and development of your baby and
focusing on the interaction between the parent
and child
- Meet Other Teen Moms and make new
friends in a teen parent group, discover ways to
overcome problems, and learn more about yourself
and your baby too
- Access Community Resources by helping
you identify sources for food, clothing,
transportation, housing, child care, and other
needed resources
- Work Toward Self-Sufficiency by
helping you identify and then work toward the
dreams and goals you have for yourself and your
child
The Young Parent Support Services program of
